The most common form of cold application is currently the local or selective cold application using cold packs, ice spray or similar aids. However, applications in a cold chamber or ice cabin are also increasingly used as a more pleasant alternative to ice baths.

Even though the effect of cold on pain, swelling and other complaints has been known for a long time, there is currently only little verifiable research on the application of cold to the whole body.
However, since research in this field is an important basis for serious application in a cold chamber and the research results are relevant for statements about the effect of cold therapy, RemediCool has made it its mission to advance research in this area.
For some time now, RemediCool has been conducting application observations in the Research Cold Studio in Cologne, Germany, on various fields of application. These observational studies are accompanied by doctors, professors, psychologists and other experts in the respective application area.
The experience of the team enables a professional and research-oriented execution of the observational studies. In addition, the focus on research brings with it a multitude of advantages and insights that can be used by RemediCool for the specially developed software RAS. Thus, not only can the applications be designed more efficiently, but also the application times can be calculated and adjusted optimally according to requirements.
Currently, application observations in the areas of sleep disorders, dietary support and regeneration are being carried out in the research studio in Cologne. For the application observations suitable test persons are assigned to the respective range of application which can be observed, for example the study for regeneration is accomplished with moderately sporty active to test persons up to professional sportsmen. In the study for the diet support test persons participate, who adapted their nutrition completely to a diet, so that the results of the application observations are not affected by unsuitable test persons and/or falsifying factors.
Since double-blind studies are not possible in the cold application, RemediCool pays particular attention to ensuring that the general conditions and procedures remain the same.
Further observational studies are already planned for the future in various application areas of cold therapy.
RemediCool researches at the highest level and takes the standard for research and operation of a cold chamber as well as for the application in a cold chamber to a new level. With the collaboration of RemediCool and ProCCare, other experts such as Pat Viroux and Dr. Dusan Fiala, the developer of the thermophysiological model, the possibilities for research in the field of cold therapy are greatly expanded. Together, RemediCool and ProCCare raise research and applications in a cold chamber to a gold standard.
